An Artisan Publisher

Where some call themselves “Indie” Publishers, others call themselves “Boutique” Publishers, we at Mountain Aura Publishing call ourselves “Artisan” Publishers – defined as a personal, hands-on approach to the publishing process that emphasizes craftsmanship, quality, and personal attention to detail. Here, at Mountain Aura Publishing, we treat each project as a unique and carefully crafted work, much like an artisan creating something distinctive and meaningful.

These online classes are designed to inspire writers to write their best by exploring their emotional centers, releasing their emotions which create feeling in your writing – through a series of tools and processes, your best writing will emerge.

Is something missing from your manuscript? Is your story all over the place? I love working with these writers to bring their story out on the page, while maintaining their writer’s voice. We will work together to let your  words fall onto the page.

Do you need a good editor? Do you have a manuscript that is ready to be edited and published? Writing the book is only the beginning. Getting an editor who understands your work, and then getting it published finishes it off beautifully.

Claiming Your Truth – An Artisan’s Journey Into Self (Fiction and/or Memoir)

Every story has gold buried within it—hidden veins of truth waiting to be uncovered.

Course Overview
This course is designed for writers who seek to explore their deepest truths through personal storytelling—whether through memoir, which is a form of creative nonfiction, or fiction inspired by real experiences. Using the Artisan approach, we will blend craft, emotional excavation, and experiential techniques to help writers move beyond surface-level storytelling and into the heart of their work.

Participants will begin with shared foundational lessons on truth in storytelling before choosing (or exploring both) the fiction and memoir paths. In the final two months, everyone will reconvene to integrate their learnings and refine their work.

And, if you are interested in writing/finishing/publishing your book, this class is required before the 9-month class begins in September. By completing this class, you will then be able to focus on the more intricate parts of your writing in the longer class. Nine months (with December off to shop, cook or play pickleball, or maybe even read a good book – anything as long as you don’t pick up your manuscript) is more than enough time to get the manuscript written, revised, edited and published on Amazon and Ingram Spark. That is if you are serious about getting your book out.

In our next post, we will showcase the four authors and their beautiful books they completed and published during the last class.

Opens April 1st for Registration – Class Begins May 6th, 2025 for 8 weeks.

*This class if a Prerequisite for the 9-Month Class in the fall.

2025: The Year of the Wood Snake

In Chinese Astrology, 2025 is the Year of the “Wood Snake,” symbolizing wisdom, adaptability, creativity, and intuition. It’s the perfect energy to support you in writing your memoir. Whether or not you follow the Chinese New Year, this symbolism reminds us that this is your year to embrace your story.

Fun Fact: My youngest granddaughter is in her sixth year of Chinese (Mandarin) immersion at her elementary school in Utah, so I’m learning a few things alongside her!
